Lakeview Park has hosted this juried art festival every August since 1986. More than 200 artisan booths sell jewelry, metalwork, paintings, and sculpture over the weekend. The College of Western Idaho judges a juried show with cash prizes for local artists. Meanwhile, a food court, live entertainment, and free inflatables round out the family-friendly event. Admission and parking are both free.
The Warhawk Air Museum hosts Idaho’s largest gathering of World War II-era aircraft each September. Vintage P-51 Mustangs, P-40 Warhawks, and other warbirds fly in from across the country for the weekend. Guest speakers, often veterans themselves, share firsthand history during breaks in the flying. Because military flyovers sometimes join the lineup, the show occasionally features modern aircraft alongside the vintage fleet. Tickets include full access to the museum’s permanent exhibits.
The City of Nampa lights its official Christmas tree outside the historic 1903 train depot each November. The ceremony coincides with Shop Small Saturday, drawing crowds to downtown businesses beforehand. Carriage rides, a winter market, and a visit from Santa fill out the afternoon. Plus, the tree itself is donated locally each year and later turned into mulch for city parks. Free parking is available in the downtown garage next to the public library.
